Tour of Harvard Historical Scientific Instruments Collection

Friday, 10 June 10-12

We will visit the Collection of Historical Scientific Instruments located at the Harvard Science Center. The collection ranges from colonial-era teaching equipment to 1950s particle accelerators, and includes antique telescopes from the early years at Harvard before the Great Refractor was built, as well as early astronomical clocks and orreries. Curator Sara Schechner will lead us on an exploration of the collection; the tour will last about two hours.
